Tips – How to have an effective Daily Scrum?

Often teams who are new to Scrum, find it difficult to have an effectiveDaily Scrum. Here are some tips for conducting an effective daily scrum:

    1. Keep it short: The time box for daily scrum is 15 minutes.
    2. Encourage active participation: All Developers should participate and speak up.
    3. Focus on progress towards the sprint goal: The Daily Scrum is to inspect progress toward the Sprint Goal and adapt the Sprint Backlog as necessary, adjusting the upcoming planned work.
    4. Keep it structured: A consistent structure can help ensure the daily scrum is productive and focused.
    5. Be mindful of time: Stick to the allotted time for the daily scrum, and avoid discussing non-essential topics.
    6. Talk about impediments
    7. Remember the Daily Scrum is not the only time Developers are allowed to adjust their plan. They often meet throughout the day for more detailed discussions about adapting or re-planning the rest of the Sprint’s work.
    8. Foster a positive atmosphere: The daily scrum should be a supportive and encouraging environment where team members can share their progress and challenges.

The scrum master should teach and coach the team how to make the event more effective.
